Who should be tested?
Patients who may benefit from bacterial testing include:
• Patients with bleeding gums, inflammation, or periodontal disease
• Patients with recurrent or non-responsive periodontal therapy
• Patients with dental implants or signs of peri-implant inflammation
• Patients with systemic risk factors such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, or autoimmune conditions
• Patients with persistent halitosis (bad breath)

How do we collect a sample?
MicrobeLink Dx® uses sterile paper point sampling to collect bacteria directly from the periodontal or peri-implant site.
• Samples are collected prior to ultrasonic instrumentation
• Paper points are gently inserted into the deepest pocket(s)
• Paper points are placed into the collection vial
• The completed order form and sample vial are returned using the prepaid UPS pouch

How do we receive our results?
When your first patient sample is received, we will create your secure online portal and email you your login credentials.
Once testing is complete, you will receive an email notification that your results are ready to view and download inside our HIPAA-secure portal.
Reports can be accessed anytime for viewing, printing, and patient education.
How long does it take to receive results?
Samples are typically shipped via UPS 2-Day Air to our laboratory.
Once received, results are usually available within approximately 72 hours.
